Returns & Refund Policy

Effective Date: 01.08.2026

At TechSource Wholesalers , we strive to provide high-quality products and excellent customer service. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, this Returns & Refund Policy explains your rights and our procedures in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 ("CPA"), the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 25 of 2002 ("ECT Act"), and other applicable South African laws.

1. General Return Period

Customers may request a return within 7 days of receiving their order if they wish to exercise their cooling-off rights for eligible online purchases, or within the applicable warranty periods provided under the CPA where products are defective.

Products must be returned:

  • In their original packaging where reasonably possible.

  • With all accessories, manuals, cables, and included components.

  • Together with proof of purchase.

  • In a condition suitable for resale, unless the product is being returned because it is defective.

2. Cooling-Off Rights (Online Purchases)

In accordance with the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECT Act), customers who purchase products online may cancel their order within 7 days of receiving the goods.

The customer is responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods unless otherwise required by law.

A refund will be processed after the returned goods have been inspected and approved.

The following items are generally not eligible for cooling-off returns where permitted by law:

  • Software that has been opened or activated.

  • Products with broken security seals.

  • Digital products or downloadable software that has been accessed.

  • Custom-built or specially ordered products.

  • Personalised or made-to-order items.

3. Defective Products

If a product is defective, unsafe, or fails to meet acceptable quality standards, customers have rights under Section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act.

Within 6 months of delivery, customers may choose one of the following remedies:

  • Repair of the product;

  • Replacement of the product; or

  • Full refund.

This does not apply where damage results from:

  • Misuse;

  • Negligence;

  • Improper installation;

  • Accidental damage;

  • Electrical surges;

  • Unauthorised modifications or repairs;

  • Failure to follow manufacturer instructions.

Products may be inspected before a remedy is provided.

4. Manufacturer Warranty

Many products are supplied with a manufacturer's warranty in addition to your rights under the CPA.

Warranty terms differ between manufacturers.

Where applicable, warranty claims may require:

  • Proof of purchase;

  • Serial number verification;

  • Inspection by the manufacturer or authorised service centre.

Manufacturer warranties do not replace your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.

5. Incorrect Products

If we accidentally supply:

  • the wrong product,

  • an incomplete order, or

  • goods damaged during delivery,

please notify us within 48 hours of receiving your order.

We will arrange collection where appropriate and replace the affected items or issue a refund.

6. Non-Returnable Items

Unless defective or otherwise required by law, the following items cannot be returned:

  • Opened software.

  • Activated licence keys.

  • Gift cards.

  • Downloadable digital products.

  • Custom-built computers.

  • Special-order products.

  • Products specifically marked as non-returnable.

7. Return Process

To request a return:

  1. Contact our customer support team.

  2. Provide your order number and reason for the return.

  3. Await return authorisation instructions.

  4. Securely package the product.

  5. Return the item using the approved shipping method.

Unauthorised returns may be refused.

8. Refunds

Once your returned product has been received and inspected, we will notify you of the outcome.

Approved refunds will be processed using the original payment method wherever reasonably possible.

Refund processing times may vary depending on your payment provider.

Shipping fees may not be refundable unless:

  • the product is defective;

  • the incorrect item was supplied; or

  • South African law requires otherwise.

9. Exchanges

Eligible products may be exchanged for:

  • the same product;

  • another product of equal or greater value (subject to payment of any price difference); or

  • store credit where agreed.

Exchanges remain subject to stock availability.

10. Business Purchases

Where products are purchased for commercial purposes or where the Consumer Protection Act does not apply, returns will be handled in accordance with the agreed terms of sale and any applicable manufacturer warranty.

11. Inspection of Returned Goods

Returned products may undergo testing and inspection to verify:

  • reported faults;

  • physical condition;

  • completeness; and

  • warranty eligibility.

Where no fault is found, the customer may be responsible for return shipping or inspection fees where legally permissible.
